Sectors

Organisations across the energy sector face the competing pressures of decarbonisation, cost and security of supply.

The transition to Net Zero is unfolding amid public concern over affordability and resilience. Policy is evolving, scrutiny is intense and stakeholder expectations are high.

We advise leaders navigating regulatory complexity, political debate and reputational risk – ensuring transition strategies are communicated with clarity and credibility.

In a sector critical to economic stability and national resilience, disciplined engagement and strategic narrative are decisive.

OFTEC

Securing policy change for renewable liquid fuels in off-grid homes

OFTEC is the trade association representing liquid fuel heating equipment manufacturers and training providers, playing a central role in the transition to low-carbon heating for off-grid homes.

Luther Pendragon worked with OFTEC to shape political and public debate ahead of, and following, the 2024 General Election. We helped secure amendments to the Energy Act to ensure renewable liquid fuels were recognised within Net Zero policy, then pivoted the strategy to engage a new Labour Government with a more assertive and impactful approach.

Through targeted political advocacy, parliamentary engagement and a strengthened media and digital campaign, we built support among Labour MPs, campaign groups and consumers. The work ensured renewable liquid fuels remained firmly part of the policy conversation, protecting choice for off-grid households and influencing the direction of future Net Zero delivery.

National Oceanography Centre

Strengthening Parliamentary Engagement for Marine Science

The National Oceanography Centre (NOC) is the UK’s leading institution for ocean science, marine technology and data stewardship, supporting understanding of sea level change and the marine environment.

Luther Pendragon works with NOC’s Public Affairs team to define and deliver a strategic engagement programme across Westminster and the devolved nations. We strengthen relationships with key parliamentary stakeholders, showcase NOC’s scientific innovation and support advocacy around legislation including the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdictions Bill, alongside coordinating site visits to its Southampton headquarters.

Our programme has enhanced parliamentary awareness of NOC’s contribution to the marine economy and climate resilience. By positioning NOC as an authoritative scientific voice, we have deepened cross-party engagement and reinforced its role in shaping the UK’s approach to ocean policy.
