Maeve has worked in the industry for over a decade and joined Luther in 2013. Her pre-Luther experience covered both media and political engagement, ranging from managing the press office for an event during the Pope’s state visit to the UK in 2010, to leading public affairs activity for the healthcare charity Sue Ryder. She holds a degree in Law and a Master’s degree in Human Rights Law, both from the University of Nottingham.
At Luther she has worked for clients in a broad range of industries including retail, financial services and healthcare. That work has included running press offices, providing crisis communications support and running targeted political campaigns. In 2016 she was seconded to work on the five-strong team handling international press for the US Democrats’ National Convention, the largest global media event ever to take place.
Maeve is politically active and was elected twice as a councillor in the London Borough of Camden. She has worked on national and local election campaigns in the UK and continues to be an elected officer of her local Labour Party. She is a member of the Board for Labour in the City, the political grouping championing the interests of financial and related services, and writes an occasional column for the think tank Progress.
