Katherine is the founder and Managing Director of Marland Sykes, and provides strategic counsel on reputation management, regulatory risk, public affairs, corporate communications, policy and strategy development, crisis management, corporate social responsibility and sustainability.
Katherine came to public affairs through law. She previously spent 14 years as a lawyer, specialising predominantly in product litigation and regulation.
She has been working with FMCGs in the policy and regulatory arena since 1999, both in-house and as an external consultant. She has a special interest in public health policy and environmental matters, particularly conservation, and has represented her clients to the Department of Health, DEFRA and other government departments on many occasions. She has also helped develop an assortment of corporate responsibility and sustainability strategies. Recent clients have included Coca-Cola, Mars and Nestle.
As a member of the Physical Activity Network's Secretariat, Katherine is actively involved in the Department of Health's Responsibility Deal.
