This week we were pleased to welcome Matt Chorley, columnist and Red Box Editor at The Times, for the latest in our series of #LutherNetwork events.

Matt spoke about his early career on regional papers before joining the Press Association as a political journalist, and going on to become the MailOnline’s first ever Political Editor, before he became Red Box Editor at The Times in 2016.

Given the fact that his tenure at The Times has coincided with one of them most tumultuous and unpredictable eras in British political history, discussion was rich with anecdotes fresh from the lobby, Matt’s personal take on the key players in Government and the Brexit debate, as well as a group consensus that the current political discourse is far from the norm.

Matt also discussed with the group the origins of the Red Box email and its namesake weekly podcast, tips for pitching op eds, and the perils of his daily morning deadline in an era of such political unpredictability.

Our thanks go to Matt and our guests for joining us.
