ENGLISH CRICKET BOARD HIRE LUTHER PENDRAGON FOLLOWING QUINTUS ACQUISITION
25 February 2010: Luther Pendragon has begun working for the English Cricket Board (ECB) following the Independent Advisory Panel, chaired by David Davies, recommendation that Cricket’s Home Ashes Test matches should be protected for free-to-air live coverage. The win follows the acquisition of Quintus at the end of 2009, to form one of the UK’s largest independent public relations consultancies.
Luther Pendragon will oversee a grassroots communications campaign aimed at informing MPs and PPCs about the huge financial impact showing key matches on a free-to-air basis would have on cricket throughout the country.
Chris Guyver, Director at Luther Pendragon and previously Chief Executive of Quintus Communications said:
“I am a massive cricket fan, so winning this client was particularly pleasing. We will be working hard to help the ECB demonstrate the catastrophic effect the loss of revenue from Ashes matches would have on all aspects of cricket for instance in facilities, club cricket and developing new talent.
“The ECB is one of many new clients who will benefit from the tie up between Luther Pendragon and Quintus allowing us to offer a fully integrated communications service to clients including media relations, public affairs, stakeholder relations, issues & crisis management and campaigns”.
